A Sellable Item, FRU or CRU can not be promoted (or Released) unless connected to an Active state product configuration.
An error message displays if you attempt to promote a Sellable Item, FRU, or CRU out of Preliminary state without connection to an Active product configuration.
To promote a product configuration to Active state requires:
Product Manager ENOVIA role to promote;
Connection to an Active state parent Product Model (see Product Hierarchy);
Connection to a Sellable Item, FRU, or CRU part;
Product Configurations of FRUs and CRUs also require a relationship to a Supported Machine Type Model or Product Configuration.
A selected Region (one or more countries, or Worldwide);

Physical parts (as opposed to warranties, software, or services, for instance) require at least one entry on the Product Configuration Dimensions page, where the Alt UOM equals the Base UOM and all fields contain non-zero data values.
This entry represents the dimensions and weight of an individual part.
If Regulated, connection to an Active state Machine Type Model.

The Info Bar, always displayed above the part page, shows a State lifecycle graphic that is interactive and allows promotion and demotion as allowed by your permissions and the object lifecycle rules
Click on the desired lifecycle state.
If the promotion/demotion is successful, the lifecycle graphic changes to reflect the new state.
For a failure, an error message displays the reasons.
Click Lifecycle on the product configuration category tree.
The product configuration Lifecycle/Review PowerView displays the product configuration Lifecycle at the top and related Approvals/Tasks and Routes on tabs at the bottom.
Click on the Lifecycle tab page tool bar to advance one state or click Promote to Acti... to skip unused lifecycle states directly Active.
If no actions are available on the page tool bar, you may not have the Project Manager ENOVIA role which is necessary to promote a product configuration.
Select Project Management App > Product > Product Configurations.
Select one or more product configurations using the check boxes .
Use the or buttons to promote or demote, respectively.
A confirmation message appears.
Click .
The page refreshes, showing the new lifecycle state of each selected item.
If a promotion/demotion fails, a Results of Action window displays the reasons for failure.
Access a Collection with product configurations.
Select one or more product configurations using the check boxes .
