A document is an ENOVIA container for files.

Product and project documentation captured in PLM, instead of email or other ad-hoc methods, allows the entire company and extended enterprise to take advantage of shared information.

You can do the following with documents and associated files:

Document Types

There are two types of documents: Non-Revisioned and Revisioned.

Project Documents: meeting minutes, program schedules, and contracts contained in project folders.

Reference Documents: tolerance analyses, some reports, and inspection data are supporting documents for parts and ECs.

Revisioned

Release documents describe a part and are automatically created for mechanical or electrical parts. Typically, they are released into Production using an Engineering Change (EC).

ECAD or MCAD Model: 3-D CAD model part file.

CAD Drawing: 2-D drawing file.

Drawing Print: CGM, PDF, JPG, TIFF, of the drawing (prints can be viewed without a CAD system).
