Folders and Documents

  View a Document

Documents you own or originated are shown on the Documents page.

Documents related to a project may be organized in Folders.

To locate a document, use Searches.

View Document Contents

After locating a document, click the Name link of the document.

The document initially displays the Properties page, click Files on the navigation tree to view the document contents.

Documents Listing Columns

This grid outlines the key elements of a documents listing and the purpose of each element.

The Documents page and the Documents lists in project folders show slightly different sets of columns.

Some of these columns are only shown in the Table: Expanded view.

 

Column

Description

Padlock  

Document:  Numbers in this column indicate the number of locked files and the total number of files in the document.

For example, "2/3" indicates there are 3 files and two of them are locked.

File:  When viewing a list of files in a Document, a padlock icon in this column means the file is locked.

Hover the mouse pointer over the padlock icon to view the user who locked it.

Name

The Name link displays the files contained in the document. The name is an auto-generated ENOVIA number.

Title

A required field. The Title should be descriptive enough to identify the document.

Description

More information about the document

Ver

The number or icon links to various version(s) of the file(s) contained in the document.

  • A number in this column indicates there is only one file with the indicated number of versions.

  • A file versions icon denotes multiple files each with one or more versions.

Owner

ENOVIA user who owns the document

Design Responsibility

The project to which the Document belongs.

Actions

The Actions column shows Icons for actions on the entire document and may list each file in the document with icons for actions on each file.

Some icons change depending on the state of the document or file (i.e., locked or unlocked, checked in or checked out).

Drop Zone

Drag and Drop files from other applications, such as Windows Explorer, onto the Drop Zone column of a Document to add the file in one step.

Modified Date

The date of the last change to the Document content.

Open the document in a new window.
