  Check In a File

File check in uploads edited files, generates a new version number, and unlocks the file.

Checking in is performed on locked files. See Lock a File or Checkout a File.

To add a new file to a document, see Add a New File to a Document.

Document List

When viewing a list of documents, the files in each document are listed in the Actions column.

See View a Document.

  1. Click the Checkin icon next to a file in the Actions column.

The Checkin icon only appears for locked files. See Lock a File or Checkout a File.

The File Transfers (TVC Office Integration) window displays.

A standard Windows Select File window also appears.

  1. Browse in the Select File window to the file you wish to upload.

You must select a file with the same name as the current file you are checking in.

  1. Click Open.

An Enter Information window appears.

  1. Type a Reason for Change in the text box.

  2. Click Submit.

The progress of the upload displays in the File Transfers (TVC Office Integration) window.

When the upload is complete, the documents list page re-displays showing an unlocked, new version of the file.

You may click View in the File Transfers (TVC Office Integration) window to view the uploaded file.

Document Files Page

On the Files page of a document each file is listed on a separate row:

On the Files page of a document, you may follow the above procedure, using the Actions column icons for each file.

Or:

  1. Use the check boxes to select the files to check in.

  2. Click on the page tool bar.

  3. Select Checkin . . . .

The Update Files window displays all the locked files in the document.

You may only check in the files you wish and leave the others. The other files will remain locked.

  1. Click the Browse button for a listed file.

The File Upload window displays.

  1. Browse to the file you wish to check in.

You must select a file with the same name as the current file you are checking in.

  1. Double-click on the file or select and click Open.

The file name and path are displayed in the Current File/Updated File/Format text box.

  1. Enter a reason for the update in the required Comments field.

  2. Repeat to check in more than one locked file.

  3. Click Done.

The locked file(s) in the document are checked in.

When the upload is complete, the documents list page re- displays showing an unlocked, new version of the file.

File Transfers (TVC File Manager)

The File Transfers (TVC File Manager) displays all the files that you are working with in ENOVIA.

To check in using File Transfers (TVC File Manager):

The new file version must be in the same location that you saved the file when you checked it out.

  1. Click the Check-In link next to a file.

The Enter Information window displays.

  1. Enter a Reason for Change in the test box.

  2. Click Submit.

The file is checked in, creating a new version and unlocking the file.
