Enter / Edit EC Details

Enter the following fields in the Create New EC window:

These fields may also be edited in the Edit EC Details window, accessed from the EC Properties page.

Fields in red italics are required.

Field Name	Required information
Type	EC
Description	Enter a meaningful description of the change.
Validation Required	Validation Required (Yes or No) determines EC Lifecycle. There is no default setting. Setting may be changed after creation. See EC2 Lifecycle. Validation Required (Yes or No) dynamically alters the rest of the Create EC form to allow automatic route creation in any of the available lifecycle states: No -- Route templates may be added to automatically generate routes in the Submit, Evaluate, Review (required), and Complete states. Yes -- Route templates may be added to automatically generate routes in Submit, Evaluate, Review (required), Implement, Validate, Formal Approval (required), and Complete states.
Category of Change	Select from the drop down list.
Should this EC be proactively applied to products already in the field, that is, in customers' offices?	No or Yes If Yes, the following row displays for more information on the how the EC will affect the customer experience.
What customer noticeable improvements are expected (i.e. yield, speed, print quality, noise reduction, firmware or software solution error reduction, etc.)?	Enter information on how this EC will improve the customer experience.
Design Responsibility	Click to assign the Responsible Design Organization (RDO). A default Design Responsibility (RDO) is helpful for users who frequently create parts or ECs in a particular project.
Distribution List	Click to select a list of ENOVIA users to be notified of EC status. A Distribution List is a type of Member List. With Production Parts, a Distribution List is required for the EC to move from Evaluate to Review state.
Submit List	Click to search for and select a Route template to automatically generate a route in the EC Submit state. Optional for all ECs. Only displayed after selecting Validation Required (Yes or No)
Evaluate List	Click to search for and select a Route template to automatically generate a route in the EC Evaluate state. Optional for all ECs. Only displayed after selecting Validation Required (Yes or No)
Reviewer List	Click to search for and select a Review Route template for the EC. Mandatory for all ECs. Only displayed after selecting Validation Required (Yes or No) Required for the EC to move from Evaluate to Review state. The automatically generated Review Route performs the EC promotion from Review to Approved.
Implement List	Click to search for and select a Route template to automatically generate a route in the EC Implement state. Optional for all ECs. Only available after selecting Validation Required = Yes
Validate List	Click to search for and select a Route template to automatically generate a route in the EC Validate state. Optional for all ECs. Only available after selecting Validation Required = Yes
Approval List	Click to search for and select an Approval Route template for the EC. Mandatory for ECs when Validation Required is set to Yes. Only available after selecting Validation Required = Yes Required for the EC to move from Validate to Formal Approval state. The automatically generated Approval Route performs the EC promotion from Formal Approval to Complete.
Complete List	Click to search for and select a Route template to automatically generate a route in the EC Complete state. Optional for all ECs. Only displayed after selecting Validation Required (Yes or No)
Severity	Select from the drop down list.
Policy	EC2
Purchase Order Number	Record the PO number for the EC work.
Purchase Order Amount	Record the PO total for the EC work.

Click Done .

The new EC is created and displays on its Properties page or is displayed on the current EC list page.

If performing Edit Details on an existing EC, the Properties page redisplays with the new information.
