  Set Preferences

Use Preferences to customize ENOVIA settings.

See below for specific information on Home Page and Default RDO.

  1. Click on the ENOVIA Top Bar.

  2. Select Preferences . . . .

The Preferences window displays.

  1. Select a preference type on the left.

See Preference Type, below, for details.

  1. Click Apply to save changes before selecting to another preference type.

  2. Click Done to save currently displayed Preference and close Preferences.

 

Preference Types

Description

General

Click the General link to expand if the items below are not displayed.

Conversions

Change Currency and Unit Of Measure conversions. Default setting for both is As Entered.

Default Language

Default setting is English. Use pull down list to select others.

Export Data Format

Set the format for exporting ENOVIA data:

  • Default format is CSV, for export to MS Excel.

You may select Comma or Semicolon as the Field Separator, and whether to Remove Carriage Returns.

  • Select HTML to open data in a browser window.

  • Select  TXT to open data in Notepad.

You may select Pipe, Tab, or Comma as the Field Separator, and whether to Remove Carriage Returns.

Home Page

Select as page as your Home, displayed when you log in and when you select > Home on the global tool bar.

  • See below for more information

Pagination

Controls how pages with lists display.

  • Paginate all List Pages = Yes is the default setting and can not be changed.

  • Items to Display per Page = 100 is the default setting. Items per page can be set up to 250.

  • The Pagination Controls at the bottom of list pages turn pagination on/off for that page only.

Time Zone

Change Time Zone and Daylight Savings setting. The default setting should be correct for your location.

Default Vault

The Vault is the container where ENOVIA stores data.

  • Do not change the default selection: Primary.

Toggle Browser ToolBar

You can choose to hide your browser tool bar for more ENOVIA display space.

  • Changes to this setting take effect the next time you log in.

Images in Tables/Forms

You can choose to hide images in ENOVIA Tables and/or Forms.

  • In locations with a slow connection to ENOVIA, hiding images may improve performance.

Metrics Dashboard

Select how your reports will display.

Default Design Responsibility

Default RDO automatically sets the design responsibility (project) when creating parts, documents, and ECs.

Use the Design Responsibility Browse/Choose button to search and select.

Select if this setting shall persist beyond your current ENOVIA session:

  • For Session: Current or All

Discussion Preference

Select how your Discussions are displayed:

View: Flat or Threaded

Sort: Ascending or Descending

E-mail Notifications

Select to receive emails at the System Default time or Immediately.

Set Compass Preference

When the ENOVIA Compass is selected, set which areas of the App Panel display:

Engineering Central

Click the Engineering Central link to expand if the items below are not displayed.

Default Part Name Prefix

Type the desired Default Part Name Prefix is the text box.

Select if this setting shall persist beyond your current ENOVIA session:

  • For Session: Current or All

Default Material Hierarchy

Use the three drop down lists, in order, to select the default Material Line, Series, and Family for parts you create.

  • All or partial setting of the three levels is allowed.

  • The Default Material Hierarchy setting persists in all future ENOVIA sessions, until changed again.

  • See Personal Default Material Hierarchy for more information.

Obs New EC Exclude Material Lines

Select a Material Line.

Obs New EC Exclude Types

Select a Part Type.

Program

Click the Program link to expand if the items below are not displayed.

Notification Preference

Check Yes or No for each (Yes is checked for all by default):

  • Receive Notifications for Assigned Schedule Tasks

  • Receive Notifications for Late Schedule Tasks

  • Receive Notifications for Rejected Timesheet

  • Receive Notifications for Submitted Timesheet

Home Page

See the procedure, above, to set your ENOVIA Home Page.

To set the page for a unique ENOVIA object as your Home:

  1. Access the object or at least be sure to have accessed the object since you most recently logged in, so that it will appear in your history for the current session.

  1. Click on the ENOVIA top bar.

  2. Select Page History. . . .

Page History displays all recently visited pages for your current ENOVIA session.

The Home Page column lists Preferences for any page that can be set in Preferences as a standard home page, and the link displays the Preferences window for you to make that setting.

For unique object pages not listed in Preferences, the Set as home page link allows the user to set that page as their home.

  1. Check the Link Name column and find the page you wish to set as home.

  2. Click the Set as home page link in the Home Page column for the desired page.

A Success window displays.

  1. Click OK.

  2. Close the Page History window.

Home Page after the 2015X Upgrade

Because some pages in the previous version of Lexmark ENOVIA PLM no longer exist, after an ENOVIA upgrade some home pages were set to Quick Search.

Your other Preferences were retained in the transition.

Default RDO

See the procedure, above, to set your Default Design Responsibility (RDO).

The Design Responsibility (RDO) of an EC is determined by the method and location of EC creation.
