Your Default Material Hierarchy is used to set the Material Hierarchy attributes of parts you create.
Your Default Material Hierarchy settings may be changed in ENOVIA any time you wish, such as if you change printer programs.
Your Default Material Hierarchy setting takes precedence over the project setting when creating parts.
When all three levels of your Default Material Hierarchy are set, no further work is required, as long as the Default Material Hierarchy settings are valid for the parts you create.
You may manually change the Material Hierarchy settings if the defaults are not correct for a given part.
The Default Material Hierarchy must be set in order, first at the highest level, Material Line, then Material Series, then Material Family.
Each level is set with a dynamic drop down list that is populated with choices based on the value of the level above.
Default Material Hierarchy does not require a setting for all levels:
You may set the Material Line in which you always work and then manually add the Material Series and Material Family after creating parts.
Or you may set Material Line and Series for your defaults and manually set the Material Family after part creation.
In the Material Lines, Service Parts and Options, the user chooses an appropriate Printer-related Series and Family supported by the Service Part or Option.
See Set Preferences.
