Engineering Changes

  Create a New Engineering Change

There are several ways to create a new Engineering Change:

 

from a Part  |  from an EBOM  |  from Part Where Used  |  from a Project  |  from ENOVIA Top Bar  |  From ECs Page  | Create EC on Part Workbench  | from Tab Drawing Parts or Specifications  |  with Multiple Parts in a Project  |  with Multiple Parts Across Multiple Projects -- My Engineering View > Parts Page | Create EC with Multiple Parts Across Multiple Projects -- Collections

 

Create EC from a Part

  1. Access a part.

  2. Click ECs on the Part Category Tree.

  3. Click on the page tool bar.

The Create New EC page displays.

  1. Enter the details.

  2. Click Done.

Create EC from an EBOM

  1. Access a part.

  1. Select the EBOM PowerView on the Part Category Tree.

The EBOM PowerView displays the tab you last viewed.

  1. Select the EBOMs tab.

  2. Select the EBOM View.

  3. Use the check boxes to select parts on the displayed EBOM.

  4. Click on the page tool bar.

  5. Select on the Actions menu.

The Create New EC page displays.

  1. Enter the details.

  2. Click Done.

Create EC from Part Where Used

  1. Access a part.

  1. Select the EBOM PowerView on the Part Category Tree.

The EBOM PowerView displays the tab you last viewed.

  1. Select the EBOMs tab.

  2. Select the Where Used View.

  3. Use the check boxes to select parts on the displayed assemblies.

  4. Click on the page tool bar.

  5. Select on the Actions menu.

The Create New EC page displays.

  1. Enter the details.

  2. Click Done.

Create EC from a Project

  1. Access the project.

  1. Select ECs on the project category tree.

Project ECs loads on the Work in Process tab. ECs may be created on this tab and on the ALL tab.

  1. Select the Affected Items View.

  2. Click in the page tool bar.

  1. Select .

The Create New EC page displays.

  1. Enter the details.

  2. Click Done.

Create EC from ENOVIA Top Bar

  1. Select > Engineering > Change > Create EC . . . on the ENOVIA Top Bar.

  2. Select Engineering>Change> Create EC . . .  .

The Create New EC window displays.

  1. Enter the details.

  2. Click Done.

Create EC from ECs Page

  1.  Access Engineering BOM App > Engineering > My Engineering View > ECs - Owned, or ECs - Assigned.

  2. Click on the page tool bar.

  3. Select .

The Create New EC window displays.

  1. Enter the details.

  2. Click Done.

Create EC on Part Workbench

  1. Launch Part Workbench with the necessary parts.

  2. Select the EC View.

  3. Use the check boxes to select parts.

  4. Click on the page tool bar.

  5. Select on the Actions menu.

The Create New EC page displays.

  1. Enter the details.

  2. Click Done.

Create EC from Tab Drawing Parts or Specifications

  1. Navigate to a Tab Drawing.

  2. Select Parts or Specifications on the tab drawing category tree.

  3. Use the check boxes to select items to add to an EC.

  4. Click on the page tool bar.

  5. Select on the Actions menu.

The Create New EC page displays.

  1. Enter the details.

  2. Click Done.

Create EC with Multiple Parts in a Project

Use this method to create an EC with selected existing parts in a project.

  1. Access the project.

  1. Select the Parts link on the category tree.

  1. Use the check box(es) to select the desired part(s).

NOTE:     Click the check box in the header row to select all parts on the page.

  1. Click the button on the page tool bar.

  2. Follow instructions to Create EC on Part Workbench.

Create EC with Multiple Parts Across Multiple Projects -- My Engineering View > Parts Page

This method allows you to create an EC with parts you own from multiple projects.

  1. Access Engineering BOM App > Engineering > My Engineering View > Parts

  2. Use the check box(es) to select the desired part(s).

NOTE:     Click the check box in the header row to select all parts on the page.

  1. Click  in the page tool bar.

  2. Select on the Actions menu.

The Create New EC window displays.

  1. Enter the details.

  2. Click Done.

Create EC with Multiple Parts Across Multiple Projects -- Collections

This method allows you to create an EC with parts in a Collection from multiple projects.

  1. Follow procedure to add parts to a Collection.

  2. Access the Collection with the parts to EC.

  3. Use the check boxes to select parts for an EC.

  4. Click on the Content of: Collection page tool bar.

  5. Select .

The Create New EC window displays.

The Actions menu also includes Obsolete to New EC, see End of Life Parts for more details.

  1. Enter the details.

  2. Click Done.
