  Impact Analysis

Create an Impact Analysis

Impact Analyses are created on the EC Affected Items Page, as needed for each EC part.

  1. Access the EC.

ECs initially display the EC Properties.

  1. Select Affected Items on the category tree.

  2. Select Impact Analysis View.

An Impact Analysis displays as a child of the related part.

Click next to a part to display any associated Impact Analyses or select Expand All on the page tool bar to display all Impact Analyses beneath the respective parts.

  1. Use the check boxes to select parts for impact analysis.

  2. Click on the page tool bar.

  3. Click Done in the Create Impact Analysis window.

The Impact Analysis window displays for entering or editing the impact data.

  1. Enter impact analysis data in the provided fields.

  1. Use the Column drop down list on the page tool bar to select a column for data entry.

  2. Use the Value field to select a data value or enter data for the selected column.

  3. Click or as needed.

And / Or

  1. Use the drop down lists and text fields to directly set the values in these fields.

You may edit/update the impact analysis later.

  1. Click Done.

The EC Affected Items page updates to display the newly created Impact Analyses.

Update an Impact Analysis

Impact Analyses are edited and updated on the EC Affected Items Page and on the Project ECs page.

Edit Individually:

  1. Access the EC.

ECs initially display the EC Properties.

  1. Select Affected Items on the category tree.

  2. Select Impact Analysis View.

An Impact Analysis displays as a child of the related part.

Click next to a part to display any associated Impact Analyses or select Expand All on the page tool bar to display all Impact Analyses beneath the respective parts.

  1. Click a Name link of an Impact Analysis.

You may also Search for Impact Analysis and click the Name in the results to open.

The Properties page displays.

  1. Click on the page tool bar.

The Edit Impact Analysis window displays.

  1. Edit details of the Impact Analysis.

  2. Click Done

Edit Directly on EC Affected Items, Impact Analysis View:

  1. Access the EC.

ECs initially display the EC Properties.

  1. Select Affected Items on the category tree.

  2. Select Impact Analysis View.

An Impact Analysis displays as a child of the related part.

Click next to a part to display any associated Impact Analyses or select Expand All on the page tool bar to display all Impact Analyses beneath the respective parts.

  1. Click Edit All on the second row of the page tool bar.

The Impact Analyses allow direct data entry.

See Edit Mode for more information.

  1. Enter data as needed in the available text boxes.

  2. Click Enter Read Mode on the second row of the page tool bar to commit the data and return to read only mode.

Edit Impact Analyses for One or More ECs in a Project

The Project ECs page allows viewing and editing of Impact Analyses for all the ECs in a given project:

  1. Access a project.

  2. Select ECs on the project category tree.

  3. Select Impact Analysis View.

  1. Click to expand an EC and display any associated Impact Analyses.

Or

Click to zoom to a particular EC and expand any associated Impact Analyses.

Or

Click in the page tool bar to Expand All and display all associated Impact Analyses under each EC in the project,

  1. To Mass Edit a single Impact Analysis column for all displayed Impact Analyses or selected Impact Analyses, click in a column header:

  1. Select parts as needed

  2. In the Mass Edit panel on the right, use the Column, New Value, and Apply To pull down lists and text fields to make selections and enter new values.

  3. Click and the page refreshes to show the new values.

  4. Repeat as necessary.

And / Or

  1. To directly set individual values, click on the page tool bar to enter Edit Mode.

The Impact Analysis columns display pull down lists and/or editable text fields for each Impact Analysis that you are able to edit.

  1. Use the pull down lists and text fields to directly set values.

  2. Click to exit Edit Mode and commit any changes.

Promote the Impact Analysis

When the Impact Analysis has all the necessary data, promote to Complete state:

NOTE:    Each Impact Analysis Owner, the EC Owner, and/or EC Analyst receives an email when all Impact Analyses are in the Complete state, indicating all evaluation work is finished, and the EC is ready to promote to Review.

Promote Selected on the EC Affected Items, Impact Analysis View

  1.  Use the check boxes to select the Impact Analyses that are ready to promote.

  2. Click on the page tool bar.

Promote Individually on the EC Affected Items, Impact Analysis View

On the Impact Analysis:

  1. Access the EC.

ECs initially display the EC Properties.

  1. Select Affected Items on the category tree.

  2. Select Impact Analysis View.

An Impact Analysis displays as a child of the related part.

Click next to a part to display any associated Impact Analyses or select Expand All on the page tool bar to display all Impact Analyses beneath the respective parts.

  1. Click a Name link of an Impact Analysis.

You may also Search for Impact Analysis and click the Name in the results to open.

The Properties page displays.

  1. Use the lifecycle graphic in the Info Bar to select the Complete state.

Or

  1. Select Lifecycle on the category tree.

  2. Click on the page tool bar.
