In order to create a part and set the Design Responsibility to a project, you must have the Design Engineer or Supplier Engineer role in that project.
Remember, part reuse benefits you and the business, rather than creating new part objects.

To create a part:
Select > Engineering > Part > Create Part . . . on the ENOVIA Top Bar;
or
In the Engineering BOM App > Engineering > My Engineering View > Parts and select > Create Part.
or
Access Part Workbench, View: Default and select > Create Part.
The Create Part window displays.
Enter the part details:

The part Type can be set to a top level, parent Type, but a more specific, supported Type is required to promote the part so choose a specific, supported Type during creation, if possible. |
Part Name |
Leave the Auto Name check box selected for the system to automatically generate a Part Name. Uncheck Auto Name to create a significant part name based on a project-specific prefix.

Identity |
Select an Identity from the drop-down list. Note: Only a Service Engineer can designate a part as a CRU or FRU. Only EC Analyst or Product Manager system roles may set Identity to Sellable Item. |
Configured for Product Model |
When the Identity is set to CRU, FRU, or Sellable Item, this field appears to create a product configuration, linking the part to a Product Line, Family and Model.

Returned Reason |
When the Identity is set to Returned Item, this field appears to set the return reason.
|
Original Item |
When the Identity is set to Returned Item, this fields appears to set the original part that was returned.

Title |
Enter a descriptive Title for the part -- up to 75 characters.
If a part is a candidate for reuse, use less-specific titles.

Enter additional information and details about the part. |
Basic |

Owner |
Your name is entered by default.

Security |
The default setting is Internal Use. If required, use the drop down list to change to: Public Lexmark-Confidential-Restricted See Object Access and Security Classification for more information. |
Design Responsibility |
Indicates the owning project or organization for a part, giving access to the part based on system and project role.
To change or set the part Design Responsibility, click the Browse/Choose button to search for and select the project to own the part.

Tab Drawing |
Tab Drawings are sets of similar parts.

Classification Path |
Use to assign a General Library and General Class:

Unit of Measure |
Default setting is EA (each).
