Work with Product Dimensions
Work with Product DimensionsProduct Dimensions are captured on the Dimensions page of the Product Configuration for sellable parts,.
Dimensions may only be manually added, removed, copied to, and edited in the Product Configuration Preliminary state.
Product Dimensions may be added and edited using the Product Dimensions Import Template in any lifecycle state.
Demote the Product Configuration if manual changes in the Product Dimensions are required in later lifecycle states.
To add, remove, or copy from another Product Configuration:
Product Configurations initially display the Properties page.
Click Dimensions on the category tree.
The Product Configuration Product Dimensions page displays.
Click Actions on the page tool bar.
The Actions button is only visible in the Product Configuration Preliminary state.
Select a command for working with Product Dimensions.
The Remove
command is available when a set of Dimensions already exists and is selected
using the check boxes 
.
For Add, enter values in all the fields in the table:
Text fields for entering or changing data or drop down lists for selecting units display.
Note that existing entries are also editable when adding data.
Click the Enter
Read Mode button 
to commit the data and exit the Edit mode for all rows.
Use the check boxes to select before clicking Actions.
Select Remove to delete the selected rows of Dimensions.
Copy From only works with no entries in the Product Dimensions table.
The Search Product Configurations window displays.
Enter search criteria for the Product Configuration with Dimensions to copy.
Click .
The Product Configuration Search Results window displays.
Use the radio buttons 
to make a selection.
You may click a Product Configuration name link to open in another window and check the Product Dimensions before making a selection.
Click

The Product Dimensions page refreshes showing the newly copied data.
To edit existing rows of Dimension data, in the Product Configuration Preliminary state:
Adding a row of data, above, also enters Edit mode for all rows of dimensions data.
Product Dimensions data may be edited in any lifecycle state using the Product Dimensions Import Template.
Import Template entries with the same Part and Alternate UOM of existing Product Dimensions overwrite the existing data.
Click the Edit
Mode button 
on the page tool bar.
The Product Dimensions data only enters Edit Mode in the Product Configuration Preliminary state.
The existing rows of data become text fields for entering or changing data or pull down lists for selecting units.
Enter data in the text fields and/or use the pull down lists to select units.
Click the Read
Mode button to commit the data and exit the Edit mode for all rows.
