If the EC to release a part revision or part specification revision has been rejected, that revision level can be eliminated and the revision incremented to the next level to avoid confusion.
Revision level "X" drawings may have been distributed prior to rejection.
Revision level "X" can be deleted and a new revision "X+1" created to avoid confusion between "old rev X" and "new rev X".
Can be performed by a Design Engineer or Supplier Engineer in the part RDO.
To increment the revision level:
Demote the latest revision back to Preliminary state.
Select Revisions on the Category Tree..
Click Increment Revision on the page tool bar (only available in Preliminary state).
For parts, files contained in Specifications (CAD Spec / CAD Derived) are deleted.
Reference Documents remain.
To maintain a copy of the rejected CAD drawing, save it in Reference Documents before incrementing the revision.
CAD Spec files that were pre-released from Lexmark’s MCAD system (NX) are un-prereleased.
For Part Specifications the files are deleted.
Revision is incremented.
Revision X no longer exists.
Revision X+1, in Preliminary state, is created as latest revision.
The object History indicates the revision was changed.
