Distribution to SAP

SAP Plant Procure Values and Part Blocking

To set procure values:

Right click on a cell and select Edit Attributes; or
Select one or more connected cells in the grid and click in the page tool bar.

Subcontract

Sends Parent Part to SAP Plant to treat as a Buy (part purchased complete at Plant).
Sends BOM children to SAP Plant for consignment purposes.

SAP SBOM

Sends immediate BOM children to list on a Sales Order.
Only parts with an ENOVIA Identity of Sellable Item, FRU, or CRU may be set to SAP SBOM.

Plan

This value is displayed but can not be set in the SAP BOM, Send Part and 1st Level Children to SAP grid. See Send Planning Part.
Sends Planning Part for PreRelease, with no BOM.
Part must NOT be in Release or Obsolete State.
Sellable parts must be connected to Product Hierarchy.
Non sellable parts require complete Material Hierarchy settings.

Phantom

Sends BOM children to SAP without ordering parent part.
Procure Values are set for BOM Children.

Make

Sends Part with BOM children to SAP Plant to be made.

Internal Buy / External Buy

Sends Part to be purchased complete at Plant.
No BOM children are sent to selected SAP location.
BOM children of Buy part at a particular plant are shown in white (not connected) in the grid
Do not Block BOM children (BOM children could be in other BOMs at the same plant).
Internal / External Buy:

The two types of part purchases allow SAP to create the correct workflow routes and send email notifications to the responsible parties.

Internal Buy bypasses the SBM task, eliminating time and unnecessary effort in the completer data process.

If you don't know that a part comes from an external supplier, it is likely procured within Lexmark; choose Internal Buy.

Internal Buy is purchasing from another Lexmark plant via inter-company purchase order or stock transfer order.

External Buy is placing a purchase order with a vendor.

Part Blocking

Parts in a BOM are blocked to prevent the part information in the current BOM from being sent to the blocked plant.

The parts may be in use at the selected plant in other BOMs.
Blocked parts in one BOM may have a procure value at the selected plant for other BOMs.

Blocked parts may be unconnected, an unassigned Procure Value or:

Subcontract
SAP SBOM
Phantom
Make
Internal Buy
External Buy

NOTE: Children of parts set to either External or Internal Buy for a particular plant are not sent to the plant. Blocking of these BOM children is not required.

To manage part blocking in the SAP BOM Send Part Grid:

Right click on a cell and select Block or Unblock.

Select one or more cells in the grid and click (Block) or in the page tool bar.
