In ENOVIA, part costs are created, edited, and viewed on:
The part Cost page, accessed on the Part Category Tree or
The EBOM PowerView, Flat BOM tab (parent and child BOM parts).
Use the View pulldown list to select Cost.
Costs appear on the Flat BOM tab as children of each part in the assembly. Click Expand All to view all costs.
The display options on the Table drop down list determine the number of columns in the table. Expanded Table shows more columns of cost data than Quick Table.
Any Lexmark ENOVIA user with access to view a part can also view the costs.
External users may only view costs for which the user's company is the Cost Provider and the Cost Value Type is Quoted.
The Cost Analyst ENOVIA role is required to create costs, modify costs or run cost reports.
Call the PLM Support Hotline to request additional ENOVIA roles.
The following Cost Value Types may be captured in various phases of a project:
Target
Estimate
Quoted
Working
Actual
As a project progresses and costs become more definite, create new costs:
For example: when a Quoted cost is agreed upon, create a new, Actual cost to represent the final negotiated cost.
Cost objects in ENOVIA have two lifecycle state: Create and Active.
A cost may be edited only in the Create state.
Once in the Active state, a cost must be revised to make changes, as in the case of a re-quote or modified estimate.
Costs in ENOVIA may be rolled up for top level assemblies (printers) or for subsystems, subassemblies, or parts.
Costs from a Cost Provider (supplier or internally generated costs from Lexmark) provided for a particular project are assigned to a Cost Family, which is a special type of Location.
Use of Cost Families for all costs in a project insures that costs on commonly used parts are not changed by other projects and that only the correct costs are used for roll ups.
