Material Description Field
Material Description FieldMaterial Description in a product configuration provides a summary description of the sellable part for downstream applications.
Material Description is automatically populated using fields in the Product Model and sellable part.
Material Description may not be directly edited by an ENOVIA user.
Material Description field appears on the product configuration Properties page, after creation.
For any Product Model with the Product Division field set to "Perceptive," the Material Description is filled in with the Part Title, only.
Material Description Additional Text, entered by the user, is included in the concatenated Material Description for some Product Lines.
Important product information that can not be derived from other attributes is added by the user to help identify the product in downstream applications.
The Material Description Additional Text field is on the window to Create a Product Configuration and Edit a Product Configuration, when the product configuration is a child of a Product Model that uses it.
The Material Description Additional Text field is added to the Material Description field for product configurations in these product lines:
Options -- included if Product Family is Device Upgrades, enter Printer Product Model.
Service Parts -- enter clarifying text, such as type of service part, voltage or location.
Solutions Software -- enter any information that may be important.
Warranty -- enter Product Model or Family for corresponding printer.
The following are the rules by which the Material Description field is populated in the various possible Product Lines:
The Material Description is set to the Part Title for all Product Lines when the Product Model Product Division is Perceptive.
The Material Description is set to the Part Title for all Product Lines when the part Type is set to Fee.
