Move Parts Between ECs
Move Parts Between ECsIf some parts in an EC are not ready for the EC to move forward, but the majority of parts are ready, some parts can be removed and placed directly into another EC.
An EC can not be created in this process. Create a New EC first for the parts to be moved.
Both ECs must be in the Submit state.
The attributes of the Affected Items, such as Requested Change and Reason for Change, are retained when the part changes ECs.
To move parts from one EC to another:
Access an EC.
ECs initially display the EC Properties.
Select Affected Items on the category tree.
Select the Affected Items View.
Use the check boxes 
to select the parts to move to another EC.
Click 
on the page tool bar.
Select Move Parts.
A Search window for ECs displays.
Enter search criteria for the destination EC.
Click Find.
The Add Existing window displays the EC search results.
Use the radio buttons 
to select an EC or perform a New
Search, if the required EC is not displayed.
Click Submit .
The current EC Affected Items page refreshes with the selected parts removed.
To view the moved parts, access the destination EC.
