The Search in Structure button provides two methods of searching and filtering page contents.
Click the drop down arrow on the right of the button to perform a simple search in a drop down Search panel.
Click the icon on the left of the button to open a Search pane on the right of the screen where you can build and save more complex searches.
This method allows you to create and save searches to filter page contents by multiple fields. These searches may then be used on any list page.
Search in Structure queries all the objects on the current page, not all the possible data in the table, if the data is paginated.
Click the Search drop down arrow to view the Search panel:
Enter search criteria in the text field.
Use the pulldown list to select an attribute field to query.
If the Table Configurator was used to hide any fields/columns, only displayed fields are available to search.
Click the green arrow on the lower right to search and view the results.
An information bar above the table shows the field searched and the search criteria, with links to Edit and Clear the search, and the number of results (Hits).
The column of the field you searched is highlighted, with the matching results shown in green.
The Search pane on the right of the screen allows you to build searches using multiple criteria in one or more fields.
Click the Add link at the bottom of the Search pane to include more search criteria.
Click Remove All at the bottom of the Search pane to clear all search criteria.
Click Save As ... at the bottom of the Search pane to display a text field to name and save the search.
Click Load to display a pull down list of saved searches to load and a link to Delete the selected saved search.
When multiple search criteria are set, hover your mouse pointer over any one criterion to display a Remove link for eliminating that particular search criterion without affecting the others.
Click the Search icon to open the Search pane on the right of the screen.
Use the check boxes to select search options.
Check Search in full structure (expand all) to search all levels of relationships in the displayed objects.
If unchecked, the search only queries the displayed objects.
Check Show result as list to display the search results in a 'flat' list, without relationships.
Check Require match on every level to return search matches through an expanded structure only if the parent object shares a matching criteria.
When this option is selected you may also elect to Except the root level and allow matches when the top level parent does not have a matching criteria but the child objects match.
Use the left pull down list to select the field to search.
If the Table Configurator was used to hide any fields/columns, only displayed fields are available to search.
Use the right pull down list to select a search operator:
Enter the search criteria in the text box.
Click the Add link at the bottom of the Search pane to include more search criteria.
Click Search.
An information bar above the table shows the fields searched with the search criteria, links to Edit and Clear the search, and the number of results (Hits).
The columns of the fields you searched are highlighted, with the matching results shown in green.
The Search pane on the right of the screen also allows the saving and reuse of Searches.
To create a saved search, enter the criteria as described, above, and click Save As.
To use a saved search, click Load.
Use the Select a query to load: drop list to select a saved search.
After selecting a saved search, you may click Load again to search, Unload to go back, or Delete.
