Tooling Part Naming Conventions

The required Part Name field for a tooling part may be any alphanumeric string of 7 to 15 characters .

All alphabet characters are automatically changed to uppercase.
Part Name is checked against existing ENOVIA names and duplication is not allowed.

Capital Assets

If the tooling part is considered capital equipment, enter the Capital Asset Number, provided by Finance, as the Part Name.

Non-Capital Assets

For non-capital tooling, enter the Part Name of the associated component part, with a suffix of "AA" for the first tool, "AB" for the second tool, etc.

Example: tooling for component, 10J1006:

First tool, 10J1006AA,
26th tool, 10J1006AZ,
27th tool, 10J1006BA.
